Please join the waitlist for upcoming online and in-person immersions.

This immersion is a blend of live workshops, pre-recorded classes, self practice and group mentoring.

Attending the live workshops and mentoring where possible is encouraged, but not essential. You will have ongoing access to this immersion to come back to at anytime, and to work through at your own pace. In order to embody our Yin essence, we will often meet resistance. It is okay to enter the water with baby steps. With this blended learning style in mind, two additional mentoring circles will be offered, three and six months after our immersion ends. I hope this container will aid as a reminder, a quiet cocoon of inspiration, whenever you crave support, or have forgotten how it feels to return to that quiet place within yourself. This immersion will run again in 2027, but there will be a price increase.

Yin is the blood and the bones. Words that are felt, not said. The liminal space, the threshold, the precipice between what is, and what comes next. Yin is the ancient waters, the mist, the breath out, the reflection of the moon in a pond.

The Elemental Body is a three month exploration into the art, the practice and the sharing of Yin Yoga in the style of The Daily Rest. Together, with spaciousness and attentive care, we will practice, study and share the essence of Yin, using the five elements of as our framework.

In order to teach yin, we first must reconnect with our own inner yin essence. This is about learning to live yin in an overwhelmingly yang world. This immersion is Yin in approach: rather than a standard training of rote learning theory and anatomy, we absorb and expand through practice, lecture and group discussion. This is a somatic, embodied learning experience that will, in part, be shaped by the women who join.

While the scaffolding for this training is the yin practice and five element theory, we will also explore meditation, movement, restorative yoga and pranayama practices, as well as poetry, storytelling, writing and absorbing teachings from the natural world.

This is not only an immersion for teachers, but for creatives, artists, writers, mothers, therapists and business owners — for anyone who wishes to develop a more intimate relationship with their practice, to accept their own rhythmic way of moving through the world and to re-connect to the body and the intuitive, creative and powerful, but quiet knowing voice within.

gentle medicine for a difficult world.

Our Focus

꩜ Yin asana, sequencing and class curation in accordance with the Five Elements

꩜ Meditation, breath-work, lymphatic movement, restorative asana and yoga nidra as compliments to the yin practice

꩜ The portal of yin as a container for storytelling, poetry, meditation, healing and self-enquiry

꩜ Teaching / practicing yoga as a creative art and practice (music, journalling, inspiration, attunement to nature)

꩜ Moon practices and daily practices for teachers, students of yin and anyone wishing to increase their connection to their quiet power

꩜ Yin as a practice to expand our capacity, slowly and safely, to reconnect with natural cycles and rhythms and learn to listen to the pace of the body over the mind

꩜ How we can take this knowledge and apply it different areas of life: our work, our creative practice, different styles of yoga

꩜Sharing and support throughout the course through monthly circles, community space and ample time for Q&A

✺ The Program ✺

Each module includes pre-recorded practices (Yin Sequences & Additional Practices) a live class lecture, 2-2.5 hours in length and resources and suggested reflections and lifestyle practices. We also have five circles in total, which take the form of Q&A, open sharing and discussion or lecture based on the desires and needs of the group. Sharing is not a requirement, everyone is free to engage in the immersion in whatever way suits them.

Class Dates

The Daily Rest is a diverse international community, this schedule considers participants across Australia & Asia, the US & Europe. There is the possibility that an extra office hours circle will be added if we have a group who are unable to attend live.

my vision for this training is a poem that moves from bud (wood) to blossom (fire) to bloom and back down into the earth (earth) and mud (water). I will serve as the guide, but it is a story we will all write together. This immersion will include not only asana practice and lecture-based workshops but journalling and contemplation, meditation and pranayama, deep relaxation, visualisation and group mentoring.

Am I enough?

YES!! In the many years I have been teaching online I have heard so many variations of this it makes my heart hurt. If you are drawn to this immersion, you are welcome. You do not need to be flexible (I couldn’t touch my toes when I first started teaching yoga), you do not need a teaching certification, you do not need any desire to teach in the future. You may also have a yin certification (or three) and thats beautiful too. This is not a standard yin training. If I’ve learnt anything in my lifetime of learning and studying, sometimes you don’t know why you’re pulled toward something until years after the moment has passed.
